Both Doctors, Ryan and Katie use a "whole person approach". This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this unique approach, Dr. Effertz is able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.
Dr. Katie Effertz is originally from Dubuque, Iowa. Before she chose chiropractic she knew that she wanted a career that would allow her to follow her passions. As an athlete she was always interested in health. After exploring her options she learned chiropractic was a natural fit. Through chiropractic she is able to fulfill her passions of teaching, motivating and helping people. Dr. Katie has seen first hand the importance and positive impact that chiropractic care, nutrition, and exercise can have on a community. She looks forward to extending her experience in Rice Lake.
She began her undergraduate journey at the University of Wisconsin Madison prior to obtaining her Bachelors of Science at the University of Central Florida. Upon graduation, she immediately started at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Katie chose Palmer College for its academic excellence as well as its prestigious reputation as the “Fountainhead of Chiropractic.” While attending, she served as an intern for the Sports Injury Club, the Sports and Rehabilitative Department, Kobusch Chiropractic and as a Teaching assistant for the Palmer Clinic.
In February 2010 she began working at Priority Health Chiropractic and Wellness with her husband and personal chiropractor Dr. Ryan. Her vision is one that involves family healthcare. Through her clinical experience she has successfully treated patients of all ages and conditions. Dr. Katie looks forward to helping more people understand, experience and adopt a chiropractic lifestyle.
Outside the practice, Dr. Katie enjoys spending time with her husband Dr. Ryan and other family and friends. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, traveling, athletics, and anything that allows her to be outdoors.
Born and raised in Ladysmith, Wisconsin Dr. Ryan experienced the power of chiropractic after his first adjustment. Due to his positive experience he aspired to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. “I wanted to do something in the health field,” says Dr. Ryan. “As I learned more about chiropractic I began to understand the power of the human body and its ability to heal itself. This allowed me to further understand that adopting a lifestyle of drugs/medication wasn’t for me.”
Dr. Ryan attended both the University of Wisconsin Madison and the University of Wisconsin La Crosse before attaining his Bachelors of Science from Excelsior College. In 2005, he started Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Upon graduation, Dr. Ryan worked in a multi-doctor office in Algonquin, Illinois. In 2009, Priority Health Chiropractic and Wellness opened in the beautiful town of Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
His vision is based on the simple concept that health comes from within. Dr. Ryan’s ultimate goal is to maximize the potential of every patient through chiropractic, exercise, nutrition, and knowledge. Dr. Ryan is a current member of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association. He aspires to continue his education to obtain both his C.C.S.P. (Certified Chiropractic Sports Practioner) and C.C.E.P. (Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practioner).
Outside the practice you can find Dr. Ryan spending quality time with his wonderful wife Dr. Katie. His hobbies include working out, golfing, hunting, fishing, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
